*In the recent November edition of the It's Our House newsletter, we have an important clarification to make with respect to the U18 and Junior categories being timed this season.  Please read the amended article below, with the changes noted in bold. Our apologies for any confusion this may have caused.
In order to provide our young curlers with appropriate developmental opportunities as they progress as athletes, Curling Alberta will time the semis and final game of the Provincial Qualifiers in the U18 and Junior categories this season. However, as this may be a big adjustment for teams, with little notice leading into competitions, there won’t be penalties associated for running over time. We trust that players and coaches will respect the effort of our volunteers and officials to make this happen, and utilize this as a training opportunity. Clocks and appropriate penalties will be employed for all games at the U18 and Junior Provincial Championships.
